2009 Programs
Education Education Booths At community events such as Community at Rock
Around the Clock, Pig on the Ridge.
Clean Ups Specific areas that the community identifies as problem areas in our county.
Each Crime watch area will report on their areas of concern. Beach Sweep/River
Sweep
Ciagarette Litter Awareness- engages business in helping to educate the public to be
responsible and put their butts in the proper receptacle.
Zero Tolerance to Litter-The event is designed to encourage all law enforcement
agencies to target littering, uncovered loads and illegal dumping. The campaign also
educates the public that littering is a crime with costly penalties.
Beautification-Greening our community, Intersection Islands Project, 321 Bypass
Beautification project, Kids for the Community Gardening Project
Recycling Efforts – Cell phones, ink jet cartridges, junk cars, Computers for Community,
Clean out your Closet Drive.
4H20 Camp. Environmental Camp for youth.
Green Guardians/Adopt a Highway Promote the SCDOT Adopt a Hwy program.
Green Guardians by promising to pick up litter right in front of the house or business at
least 4 times a year.
Awards luncheon-Volunteer /Sponsors appreciation ceremony
