DHEC’s office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling can help you by providing free technical assistance
to help to develop, measure and implement your waste reduction activities. The business assistance
program South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control will help to identify what scrap and
waste materials will be generated from your business.
How to make a Recycling Plan:
- Commit to Reduce Waste. Examine your operating and purchasing practice to identify cost effective
opportunities for waste reduction. - Establish Goals. Identify practical and measurable goals based on your specific needs. Set goals to
address program areas of waste prevention; recycling collection; and buying or manufacturing
products with remanufactured/recycled content. - Track Progress.
- Educate others as to the importance of recycling and reusing what limited resources we have on our
planet.
